Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a Part-Time Long Term Care Pharmacist working 24 hours per week on a contract basis. The assignment is scheduled to last one month with potential for extension. The position supports pharmacy operations Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm, in a Long Term Care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify medication orders entered by pharmacy data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. Check blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications for accuracy and compliance. Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed. Perform controlled substance counts and document thoroughly in the perpetual inventory system. Inspect and manage emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness. Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy. Minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacist; experience in Long Term Care pharmacy strongly preferred. Capable of prolonged sitting and standing, with good fine motor skills and visual acuity. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
