Responsibilities Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and technicians, to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and IV infusions, adhering to USP 797 standards for aseptic technique. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to support clinical decision-making, medication therapy management, and personalized patient care plans. Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards. Manage inventory control, including medication procurement, storage, expiration tracking, and inventory audits to maintain optimal stock levels. Implement pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, and pharmacy information systems to streamline workflows and enhance patient service delivery. Provide immunizations and participate in vaccination programs while maintaining up-to-date certifications in basic life support (BLS) and immunization administration. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while communicating effectively with clients about medication use, health conditions, and treatment options. Support patient care initiatives by engaging in patient communication, medication administration education, and chronic disease management strategies such as pain management or acute care protocols. Ensure pharmacy operations meet all regulatory requirements related to drug regulation, medical management practices, and pharmacy technician supervision. Experience Proven experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist within community or hospital settings with a strong background in pharmacy operations. Critical care experience or hospital experience preferred; demonstrated expertise in acute care environments is highly valued. Experience managing pharmacy teams or supervising staff members in fast-paced settings is essential for success in this leadership role. Knowledge of pharmacy residency programs or advanced clinical training enhances your candidacy by demonstrating commitment to professional growth. Familiarity with LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy practices or immunization programs is advantageous.
