Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire This pharmacist opportunity offers both onsite and remote work options in Gonzales, LA, with a contract-to-hire engagement lasting 13 weeks focused on Medication Therapy Management. Candidates must hold an active Louisiana pharmacist license plus at least five additional licenses from the following states: DC, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. Preference is given to applicants licensed in these specified states.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and dispense medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols. Interpret prescriptions and maintain complete and accurate computerized patient medication profiles. Issue controlled substances while complying with legal regulations and maintain detailed records. Monitor drug therapy for interactions, appropriateness, and contraindications; detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly. Provide clinical consultations and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives. Document clinical activities thoroughly and participate in quality improvement and medication use review processes. Supervise pharmacy support personnel, verify their daily activities, and participate in performance evaluations. Organize and prioritize workload to ensure timely pharmacy services with minimal supervision. Conduct medication storage area inspections, replacing outdated or unusable drugs. Maintain professionalism in all patient and staff interactions, including telephone and window requests.

Required Qualifications:

Active Louisiana pharmacist license. Multiple state pharmacist licenses—with a goal of licensure in 10 additional states beyond Louisiana within 18 months. Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings.
