Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A unique opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to join a tribal clinic/hospital in a scenic mountain area of Arizona. This role focuses on providing expert pharmaceutical care within the Emergency Department during night shifts, contributing to critical patient care in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a decentralized ED Pharmacist, managing medication therapy and supporting emergency clinical needs Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize drug therapy and ensure patient safety Maintain certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS (willingness to obtain required) Utilize a proprietary pharmacy information system (RPMS), similar to VA's Vista, for medication management and documentation Embrace the unique aspects of working in a tribal healthcare environment to provide culturally competent care
Schedule:
Night shifts, 7 days on followed by 7 days off 10-hour shifts per night
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Pharmacist license preferred; Arizona pharmacist license not required due to tribal facility status Clinical experience essential, ideally including residency or hospital pharmacy practice Positive attitude and adaptability to work within a remote and culturally diverse setting Willingness to obtain or maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Comfort and ability to work independently in a decentralized pharmacy role
