Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist experienced in long-term care and mail order environments. This contract role provides a unique blend of fast-paced medication dispensing combined with patient-centered consultation and supervision responsibilities. It is ideal for professionals looking to apply their pharmacy expertise while rotating through first and second shifts.
Location:
Warwick, Rhode Island Schedule:
Monday to Friday Rotating shifts: 9:30 am to 11:00 pm 13-week contract with potential to convert to permanent
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while complying with legal standards Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy documentation Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions Provide patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management education Educate patients on proper use of medical devices including blood pressure and glucose monitors Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related patient issues
Qualifications:
Valid Rhode Island pharmacy license required Pharmacy experience with a focus on medication dispensing and patient counseling Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings highly preferred Strong communication and supervisory skills This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop clinical and leadership skills in a dynamic pharmacy setting.
