Duties Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV infusion compounding and aseptic technique procedures, ensuring safety and accuracy. Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintain precise records of drug dispensation. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating patient information, and providing excellent customer service. Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, pharmaceutical regulations, and drug regulation standards. Conduct pharmaceutical calculations accurately for medication dosages, especially in critical care and hospital environments. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive medical information in accordance with healthcare regulations. Support hospital pharmacy operations by assisting with medication administration, sterile IV admixture procedures, and maintaining aseptic techniques for safe drug preparation. Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, or community pharmacy settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and drug regulation compliance. Experience with pharmacy software systems used for medication management and data entry. Critical care or acute care experience is a plus, especially involving IV infusion and sterile compounding procedures. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent healthcare certifications preferred. Familiarity with state healthcare regulations, hospital pharmacy protocols, and sterile IV admixture procedures is advantageous. Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and patient care.
