Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacist in Charge at a psychiatric care facility with a 128-licensed bed capacity and an average daily census of 103. This contract role requires a Texas Pharmacist license and offers a dynamic environment to oversee pharmacy operations in a specialized mental health setting. The position supports a small team including two pharmacy technicians and three PRN pharmacists, ensuring quality pharmaceutical services.
Location:
Katy, TX Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Possible weekend coverage 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM (as needed) On-call coverage for potential staffing gaps
Duration:
8 to 12 weeks starting
ASAP Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Texas Pharmacist licensure (required) Experience in pharmacy management and staff coordination Ability to work in a psychiatric specialty environment Proficiency or willingness to learn HCS order entry system Strong organizational and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy staffing and ensure coverage Coordinate with pharmacy technicians and PRN pharmacists to support workflow Manage pharmaceutical services within the psychiatric care setting Provide support with order entry utilizing the HCS system (training provided) Engage in weekend or on-call shifts as necessary to maintain service continuity This contract role allows a motivated pharmacist to lead in a specialized healthcare environment, focused on mental health pharmacy services.
