Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated pharmacist intern (seeking licensure) or pharmacist to join our team as pharmacy resident in our non-traditional residency track. In this vital role, you will complete 52 weeks of accredited pharmacy resdiency training with alternating pharmacy staffing responsibilities over the course of the two year contract. This position offers an exciting opportunity to obtain pharmacy residency certification and a unique opportunity through the non-traditional track to apply residency training in a pharmacy staffing/clinical specialist role throughout the contract. Duties Collaborate closely with preceptors, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized medication plans. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physiology and anatomy knowledge, to determine appropriate pharmacotherapy strategies. Manage complex medication regimens Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to drug regulation standards and hospital policies. Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) for medication ordering, verification, and documentation to streamline clinical workflows. Monitor patient responses to therapies, adjusting medications as needed to optimize outcomes while minimizing adverse effects. Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation of medications and ensure adherence to infection control protocols. Complete all hospital and ASHP requirements for Pharmacy Residency Certification Skills Desired Texas State Board of Pharmacy active pharmacy intern license or pharmacist license Communication skills for effective team work and collaboration with pharmacy colleagues and other departments and with patients and patients' family members Join our residency program to obtain valuable training and expertise to set your self up for success in future clinical specialist positions.
