Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A long-term care pharmacy requires experienced pharmacists to fulfill a 9-week contract starting mid-August in the Brookfield, WI area. This opportunity offers a chance to work a second shift, 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with rotating weekends, providing essential pharmaceutical services in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring legal compliance. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify any patterns of overuse. Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision. Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer inquiries. Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Maintain an adequate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners to resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Wisconsin pharmacist license is required. Experience in retail pharmacy is welcomed; training will be provided as needed. Strong communication and supervisory skills. Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.

2nd shift: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm Rotating weekends This contract opportunity requires pharmacists to be available every 2-3 years at this site and presents an engaging setting to apply and develop clinical and leadership skills within long-term care pharmacy services.
