Job Description The Health Sciences Building, on the UMKC Health Sciences Campus, houses the UMKC School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing and Health Studies. This position will serve as the building liaison and handles the day-to-day operations of the shipping/receiving dock, as well as interfacing with UMKC Campus Facilities Management (CFM) and the needs of the School of Pharmacy staff, faculty, and students to advance the mission of educating new professionals. An integral part of our operations, this position has varied functions such as: Work with large shipments being received for research labs Help manage inventory as part of UM System compliance efforts Assist with the coordination of incoming repairs and service calls Notify building occupants of facilities issues and current projects from Campus Facilities Management (CFM) Help coordinate building emergency responses The successful applicant will become part of an existing team within the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences and will get to interact with faculty, staff, and students across the School of Pharmacy and within the Health Sciences District. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications Ability to handle a pallet jack Knowledge of delivery protocols Understanding of building systems and functions Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment Strong problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Experience working with shipping and receiving is a positive Must possess the physical ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 75 pounds ; heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical assistance Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as up to $18.75 per hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
