Overview Clinical pharmacy interns are persons skilled in the practical and mechanical aspects of the profession of pharmacy, and who are enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy actively pursuing the PharmD degree. The clinical pharmacy intern position requires a high level of function in specific skills and knowledge. Increasing involvement of pharmacists with patient care activities has increased the need for trained and qualified pharmacy interns who are able to assume the more clinical roles in pharmacies. Clinical pharmacy interns assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department. Responsibilities Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Contributes to the effective operation of the department. Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures. The pay range for this job begins at $20.88/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
