Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in delivering exceptional patient care by assisting with medication preparation, data entry, and ensuring compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, including compounding medications and sterile IV admixture procedures using aseptic techniques. Perform data entry into pharmacy software systems accurately and efficiently, maintaining detailed records of medication orders and patient information. Support the preparation and administration of IV infusions, ensuring adherence to sterile procedures and hospital protocols. Maintain pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by following state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation standards, and medical terminology guidelines. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, managing intake processes, and supporting medication management efforts in community or hospital pharmacy settings. Ensure patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive health information in accordance with privacy laws. Assist with inventory management, medication storage, and maintaining proper stock levels for both hospital and community pharmacy environments. Experience Previous pharmacy technician experience or similar role in LTC is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation compliance, and medical terminology is essential. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, data entry procedures, and medication administration protocols is required. Demonstrated knowledge of sterile IV compounding, aseptic technique, and sterile IV admixture procedures is advantageous.
