Pharmacy Assistant

Job Description

Pharmacy Assistant - Billing & Patient Support Northwest Compounders is seeking a reliable, professional, and courteous Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This role plays an important part in supporting our pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription billing, patient communication, administrative tasks, and maintaining an organized and efficient pharmacy environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and committed to providing excellent service to our patients and team members. Responsibilities Billing patient prescriptions (up to 90% of daily responsibility) Following up with patients regarding prescription payments and account questions Maintaining accurate records while following HIPAA requirements, company policies, and confidentiality standards Supporting general administrative tasks and organization within the pharmacy Assisting with cleaning and maintaining shared areas, including breakrooms and laundry areas Collaborating with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and leadership to promote efficient workflow and exceptional patient service Completing additional tasks and projects as assigned by management, pharmacists, and pharmacy supervisors Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Lift and move containers up to 20 pounds (most items are less than 10 pounds) Stand for the duration of the shift when not on scheduled breaks or lunch Walk intermittently throughout the pharmacy and production areas Occasionally bend at the knee and waist to clean work areas and access supplies Frequently use hands, fingers, wrists, forearms, arms, and shoulders for daily tasks Schedule Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Growth Opportunity There is potential for advancement into a Pharmacy Technician role for employees who demonstrate exceptional performance and obtain a pharmacy technician license through the Oregon Board of Pharmacy.
