Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract This opportunity calls for an experienced Pharmacy Director to lead operations at two psychiatric care facilities. Serving as both Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will play a vital role in ensuring top-quality pharmaceutical services across these two sites with a combined licensed bed count of 125 and an average daily census of 120. The position begins by October 5th and spans approximately 8 to 12 weeks, providing critical leadership during the current Director's leave.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM with on-call duties when the pharmacy is closed Possible weekend shifts from 8:00 AM to 1:00

PM Key Responsibilities:

Oversee staffing and scheduling for both facilities, ensuring uninterrupted pharmacy operations Manage a team including 2 pharmacy technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists Lead committee involvement and contribute to policy and quality improvement initiatives Coordinate with day pharmacy technician support from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM for order entry Utilize the HCS order entry system (training provided) Maintain compliance and prepare for the upcoming JC survey in 2025

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Valid California Pharmacist license required Proven experience in pharmacy management; hospital experience preferred but not mandatory with the right skill set Ability to lead and support pharmacy staff through effective management Familiarity or willingness to learn the HCS order entry system Prior experience with psychiatric pharmacy services is a plus This role represents a contract assignment that provides a chance to exercise leadership and make a meaningful impact within psychiatric pharmacy services.
