Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract A critical access hospital located in rural Northern California seeks an interim Pharmacy-in-Charge (PIC) / Director of Pharmacy (DOP) to oversee pharmacy operations for approximately 13 weeks. This role is essential for maintaining excellent pharmaceutical services within a 25-bed hospital and ensuring high-quality patient care.
Schedule:
Four 10-hour day shifts per weekKey Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, with approximately 90% of time dedicated to staffing and distribution duties Perform order verification and supervise technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to provide pharmaceutical consultations and support clinical decision-making Apply pharmacokinetics knowledge to optimize medication therapies Handle administrative tasks, including compliance and quality assurance activities (approx. 10% of duties)Qualifications and Experience:
Valid California Pharmacist license Previous hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity Strong understanding of pharmacy operations in a critical access hospital setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinical teamsLocation:
Rural Northern California, Lakeport area This contract position offers the opportunity to provide pivotal leadership in a small hospital environment with a schedule designed to support work-life balance.
