Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Manager role at a 340B retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital. The pharmacy operates with a prescription volume of approximately 140 prescriptions per day, serving an essential role in the community with a dedicated team of one pharmacist and two technicians. The position requires a hands-on manager who can lead daily pharmacy operations efficiently within a close-knit team.
Schedule:
Monday -
Thursday:
8:00 am to 6:30 pm
Friday:
8:00 am to 5:00 pm On-call duties are possible but occur infrequently
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and 340B program requirements Oversee prescription processing and daily workflow in a retail environment Collaborate closely with pharmacy staff to optimize patient care and medication safety Maintain accurate records and assist with pharmacy audits Support inventory management and procurement activities Foster a positive work environment ensuring all staff remain engaged and productive
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Iowa Pharmacy license or eligibility to obtain a temporary Iowa license prior to start date Solid retail pharmacy experience; familiarity with 340B pharmacy operations is highly preferred Ability to work full-time hours as outlined above Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently within a small team setting Experience with Pioneer pharmacy computer system is advantageous
