Responsibilities Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to deliver outstanding patient service and operational excellence. Oversee medication dispensing, compounding medications, and IV infusion procedures while ensuring adherence to USP 797 standards for sterile preparations. Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and pharmacy information systems (PIS). Conduct patient assessments, provide medication counseling, immunizations, and support pain management initiatives to improve health outcomes. Maintain accurate inventory management of pharmaceuticals, monitor stock levels, and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages or overstocking. Implement clinical pharmacy practices including patient care programs, medical management support, and clinical confidentiality policies. Ensure all pharmacy operations meet regulatory standards such as USP 797 for sterile compounding and adhere to pharmacy software protocols for documentation and record keeping. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training staff on pharmacy operations, drug regulation updates, EMR/EHR systems, and practicing aseptic techniques. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current practicing credentials in the relevant state or jurisdiction. Demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while ensuring high-quality patient service delivery. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice. Experience with pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools. Certifications in basic life support (BLS), immunizations, and sterile compounding (USP 797) are desirable. Familiarity with drug regulation policies, healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA, and practicing within legal frameworks governing pharmacy operations. Excellent client communication skills combined with a proactive approach to medication administration and patient care coordination.
