Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An interim leadership opportunity is available for a seasoned pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a behavioral health-focused hospital in North Texas. This contract role provides coverage from early October for approximately 13 weeks, overlapping with the outgoing director to ensure a smooth transition until a permanent hire is in place.

54 licensed beds with expansion plans in 2027Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with on-call duties Occasional weekend coverage, Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 AM - 11:00AM Responsibilities:
Lead pharmacy operations including staffing, workflow, and compliance Oversee pharmacy committees and contribute to organizational planning Support and train new staff, including a part-time pharmacist in training Ensure smooth operations in an inpatient behavioral health setting serving adults 18+ Collaborate closely with outgoing leadership during overlap period to maintain continuityQualifications and Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist in Texas with Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager experience Proven leadership in inpatient pharmacy, preferably with behavioral health exposure Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation is a plus Strong skills in staff management and regulatory adherence Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and occasional weekend shifts The hospital maintains a stable environment but requires dedicated leadership to address staffing challenges and operational management during the transition. With a small but specialized team including pharmacists and technicians, the role demands a hands-on leader capable of maintaining high standards of care.
