Job Description

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a key role in both clinical care and pharmacy operations: Accurately dispense prescription medications in a retail pharmacy setting Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, including dosage, interactions, and therapeutic outcomes Perform Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) to ensure patient safety and optimal care Counsel patients and caregivers on medication use, side effects, and health management Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to recommend therapy improvements Respond to clinical questions from patients and healthcare professionals Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and medication profiles Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance management Support cost-effective pharmacy operations and workflow efficiencies Contribute to a positive team environment by guiding and supporting pharmacy staff Leadership & Team Impact Provide leadership and direction to pharmacy technicians and support staff Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional patient service Support training, development, and daily workflow coordination
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree Active Pharmacist license in the State of Wisconsin Certification to administer immunizations in
Wisconsin Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of pharmacy experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities Experience with process improvement and quality initiatives Skills That Set You Apart Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to patient-centered care Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to lead, coach, and support a team Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with pharmacy systems (RX30, Pioneer) and Microsoft Office is a plus Why Join Hometown Pharmacy?
