Responsibilities Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including sterile IV admixtures and compounded medications. Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration date monitoring, and proper storage procedures to ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance. Utilize pharmacy software for data entry, prescription processing, and maintaining detailed records while adhering to patient confidentiality protocols. Assist with medication administration processes and patient service activities, ensuring clear communication and compassionate care. Follow aseptic techniques and sterile IV compounding procedures to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff. Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards at all times. Support hospital or community pharmacy operations by performing intake procedures, verifying prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service. Requirements Prior pharmacy technician experience in LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, or community settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and drug regulation laws. Certification or training in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to pharmaceutical calculations or sterile compounding are advantageous. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry and prescription management. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, sterile IV admixture procedures, and pharmaceutical calculations. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to strict privacy standards outlined by healthcare regulations.
