  • Chula Vista, CA About the Position Family Pharmacy #2 is an independent community pharmacy looking for an experienced, dependable, and highly personable Pharmacy Technician to join our team.
This is a very patient-facing position , so personality matters just as much as technical ability. We are looking for someone who is naturally friendly, outgoing, energetic, and comfortable talking with people throughout the day . Our ideal technician enjoys getting to know patients, starting conversations, answering questions, and confidently explaining or recommending pharmacy services when appropriate. You should be comfortable engaging with patients—not simply processing prescriptions behind the counter. Reliability is extremely important. We need someone who consistently arrives on time, maintains dependable attendance, communicates well with the team, and can be counted on. If you prefer a quiet, task-focused position with minimal patient interaction, this position will likely not be the right fit. If you are outgoing, dependable, positive, and enjoy working with people, we would love to meet you. Responsibilities Enter and process prescriptions accurately Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and workflow Receive prescriptions and verify patient information Fill, count, label, and prepare medications Process prescription insurance claims Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and billing issues Answer incoming phone calls Communicate with patients regarding prescriptions, refills, insurance issues, and pharmacy services Communicate professionally with physician offices and other healthcare providers Provide friendly and attentive customer service Proactively engage with patients and explain pharmacy services when appropriate Maintain accurate patient records Stock medications and maintain pharmacy inventory Monitor inventory and assist with medication ordering Perform filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy Follow all pharmacy policies, security procedures, and quality standards Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team with daily operations as needed What We're Looking For Our strongest candidates are: Reliable and punctual Outgoing, friendly, and personable Comfortable starting conversations with patients Confident explaining and recommending pharmacy services Positive and energetic Strong communicators Comfortable working in a busy environment Able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities Detail-oriented and accurate Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed We can continue teaching pharmacy skills and workflow, but reliability, work ethic, communication skills, and personality are essential qualities for this position. Qualifications Active California Pharmacy Technician License

  • Required English
  • Required Pharmacy technician experience
  • Preferred Previous community or independent pharmacy experience
  • Preferred Familiarity with prescription processing and insurance billing Knowledge of common medications and pharmacy terminology Strong organizational and customer-service skills PTCB Certification
