Compounding Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Compounding • Provider Outreach • Pharmacy Operations Full-Time | Tustin, CA (on-site + local provider visits) | $28-$40/hour DOE | Reports to: Pharmacist-in-Charge About Artisan Artisan Compounding Pharmacy is a new independent 503A non-sterile compounding pharmacy in Tustin, California, focused on women's health — hormone replacement therapy, sexual health, dermatology, hair restoration, low-dose naltrexone, pediatric, and veterinary compounding. We are a boutique practice built on personal care, beautiful craftsmanship, and close partnerships with local physicians. You would be one of our founding team members, working directly alongside the founder and Pharmacist-in-Charge. About the Role This is not a standard technician position. We are looking for a licensed compounding technician who wants a bigger seat at the table. Roughly 60% of your week is hands-on non-sterile compounding and dispensing. The rest is split between two things: joining the Pharmacist-in-Charge on visits to physician offices and med spas to introduce our services, and running the back-end operations that keep a small pharmacy moving — inventory, records, vendor orders, and front-office administration. What You'll Do Compounding & Dispensing Prepare non-sterile compounds (creams, capsules, troches, suppositories, suspensions) per master formulas under USP <795> and USP <800> Maintain compounding logs, batch records, and beyond-use dating documentation Perform equipment cleaning, calibration checks, and workspace maintenance Process and fill prescriptions accurately in the pharmacy software system Manage chemical and supply inventory; receive, log, and rotate stock Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately and efficiently under pressure Provider Outreach Accompany the Pharmacist-in-Charge on scheduled visits to physician offices. Schedule provider appointments, prepare welcome kits and materials, and take notes during visits Track outreach activity and follow-ups in our CRM/tracking sheet Deliver marketing materials and maintain relationships with front-office staff at partner clinics Retail + Front End Support supplement and OTC retail operations — receiving inventory, stocking shelves, managing reorders Assist patients at the counter with professionalism and warmth; help explain products and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail floor consistent with the Artisan brand aesthetic Help set up and maintain product displays for supplement and wellness categories Maintain compliance records and assist with Board of Pharmacy documentation Support day-to-day administrative tasks assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge Social Media + Brand Presence Create and post engaging content for Artisan's Instagram and Facebook — 3 to 5 posts per week Content types: educational wellness tips, behind-the-scenes lab moments, product spotlights, meet-the-team posts, patient education (no PHI)◦ Short-form video (Reels) is a plus — we want someone comfortable on camera and behind it Maintain a consistent brand voice — boutique, clinical, approachable, community-rooted Monitor comments and DMs; escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist Collaborate with the pharmacist to develop a monthly content calendar Help build our local provider and community following ahead of and after opening In a small, founder-led pharmacy, responsibilities evolve. What You'll Need Required Active California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing PTCB certification (CPhT) 3+ years of non-sterile compounding experience Comfortable speaking with physicians, office managers, and patients — professional, warm, and well-presented Strong attention to detail and documentation habits Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local provider visits USP <795>/<800> training certificates Experience with PioneerRx, PK Software, or similar independent pharmacy software Proven experience in pharmacy settings such as hospital pharmacy, LTC (Long-Term Care), or community pharmacy with compounding responsibilities Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, and medical terminology Canva, CapCut, or similar content creation tools Preferred Experience in HRT, women's health, dermatology, or functional medicine settings Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and medication safety Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Bilingual (Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish...)
