Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications using aseptic techniques. Manage medication inventory, perform pharmaceutical calculations, and ensure proper storage according to regulatory standards. Enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems efficiently while maintaining strict patient confidentiality. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating medical records, and providing medication information. Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements. Prepare sterile IV admixtures and perform sterile compounding procedures following aseptic technique protocols. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, explaining medication instructions, and supporting overall patient care initiatives. Skills Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy environments with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical operations. Critical care experience and acute care familiarity are highly valued for managing complex medication needs. Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological terminology, and drug regulation laws at state and federal levels. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems for data entry, inventory management, and medication tracking. Skilled in pharmaceutical calculations necessary for accurate dosing and compounding procedures. Experience with IV infusion preparation, sterile compounding techniques, aseptic procedures, and sterile IV admixture procedures. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance including drug regulation policies and maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced healthcare settings.
