Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Overnight Pharmacy Technician in West Hartford! In this vital role, you will support the pharmacy's operations during overnight hours, ensuring accurate medication preparation, dispensing, and patient care. Your expertise will help maintain seamless pharmacy functions, uphold regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional service to patients and healthcare providers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes around the clock. Responsibilities Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques, following strict sterile compounding procedures Accurately enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems while maintaining patient confidentiality Verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws Assist with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and drug regulation adherence Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, clarifying medication instructions, and supporting medication administration protocols Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to hospital and community pharmacy standards and medical terminology guidelines Maintain detailed records of medication preparation, drug accountability, and audit logs for quality assurance Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience in hospital or community pharmacy settings is highly preferred Demonstrated expertise in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, or acute care pharmacy environments is a plus Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical calculations, IV compounding, sterile IV admixture procedures, and aseptic technique Knowledge of pharmacy software systems for data entry and medication management Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and drug regulation laws Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is desirable but not mandatory Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical compliance standards Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering safe, effective medications while providing compassionate patient care.
