Job Summary:
As a Pharmacy Technician at Ivira Health, you will be front and center - interacting with our customers and developing strong patient relationships. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by positively supporting our pharmacy teams and providing excellent patient care. Communicating with other health care providers, reviewing patient records, filling medication orders while following HIPPA guidelines, and ensures we are able to meet our patients' needs. General Duties and Responsibilities In accordance with state and federal regulations, assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Enter prescription information into pharmacy computer system, including but not limited to: patient searches, prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basic documentation. Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input customer and prescription data into the computer. Accept customer, prescription, and insurance information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices. Retrieve medication from inventory. Prepare prescription medications for dispensing, including but not limited to: Count or measure tablets, capsules, or liquid medications, place medication into prescription containers, create prescription labels, and appropriately label prescription containers, Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order. Assist in inventory management processes including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation. Adhere to safety practices to ensure quality care for patients. Provide customer service by answering phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner. Triage patient requests and concerns, and collaborate with team members to assist patients. Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Reviews and complies with the Ivira Health Code of Conduct. Required Qualifications and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Active PTCB Certification Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Prefer good math skills to allow for accurate filling of prescriptions including counting, measuring, and weighing medications. Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices. Good computer skills. Good communication skills, allowing for positive interactions with patients, providers, and pharmacy team. Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control. Experience with Pill-pack machine is a plus. Experience with microsoft Bilingual is preferred Work Environment This job operates primarily in an office environment. This position requires the use of standard office equipment, and frequent standing and walking.
