Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract Join a dynamic pharmacy team in Clearwater, FL, as a Pharmacy Technician on a 13-week contract. This role is pivotal in supporting pharmacists by efficiently processing prescriptions and managing pharmacy operations to ensure quality patient care. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, starting as soon as cleared (typically 1.5 to 2 weeks following the offer).
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions accurately, manage insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections. Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification. Perform data entry, handle prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers professionally. Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and reviewing medication expiration dates. Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures. Cross-train across pharmacy functions to support departmental needs. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license are mandatory. Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; experience in a call center is preferred. Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
