In-Office Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) is a nationally and internationally recognized nonprofit organization that provides programs and support services for people with hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease, and other bleeding disorders. Hemophilia of Georgia operates an annual summer camp program for children and teens with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. Camp is typically held in the summer (which may include the Fourth of July) and runs Saturday-Friday, and the date changes each year. Camp is an agency-wide, strategic priority; therefore, all exempt employees must participate. Assignments may include duties at camp, helping campers get to and from camp, and may involve overnight travel. The Director of Camp & Client Events will provide advance notice to exempt employees of where support is needed. PTO requests during the week of camp are generally not approved ; however, PTO requests for extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Chief Community Engagement Officer. The Pharmacy Technician (Operations) is responsible for assisting the pharmacy team in overall pharmacy operations and assisting with pharmacy orders through the HoG, Beacon and contract pharmacy operations. The position provides information to new clients and provides answers to potential clients of in-network pharmacy status. As a member of the pharmacy team, this position works inside the pharmacy department with the pharmacists and other technicians.
Qualifications:
High school diploma. Three to five years general office experience. Preferred CPhT - Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Be a registered pharmacy technician with the state of Georgia. Two years customer service experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Become proficient in all software utilized in the pharmacies. Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds. Serve as the primary technician to assist in overall pharmacy operations. Under the pharmacist's supervision, enter new prescriptions in database. Manage expired Rx's that are on hold monthly. Manage factor orders for clients we serve as a contract pharmacy. Collaborate with contract HTC's to assist with inventory and client orders. Maintain order history for all contract HTC's. Provide and maintain all reporting required by contract HTC's Assist pharmacist when necessary, in dispensing factor orders. Assist shipping technician in daily checks/shipping. Serve as backup to review invoices for infusion supplies to ensure they are billed correctly. Research and resolve discrepancies. Check and prepare all factor orders for shipping. Communicate client problems to nurses, physicians, and social workers. Assist in conducting quarterly physical inventory of infusion supplies. Assist Pharmacist in processing, filling and shipping factor orders as needed. Assist Pharmacist in conducting inventory of factor as needed. Maintain infusion and shipping supplies stock rooms in an orderly manner. Refill infusion supply shelves as needed. Serve as back up to monitor the pharmacies' refrigerator temperatures daily. Maintain daily temperature log. Forward treatment calendars sent in by clients to the appropriate HTC. Receive inventory and reconcile packing lists against receipts. Research and resolve discrepancies. Assist pharmacy team in Camp Wannaklot pharmacy operations set-up.
Additional Responsibilities:
Serve on the Pharmacy Outreach Collaborative Committee (POCC). Attend annual Regional meeting. Assist with development of pharmacy procedures and Notify VP of Human Resources when procedures require revision. Additional duties as assigned by Pharmacy team, Senior Leadership or Leadership team member.
