Prescription Processing & Fulfillment Accurately input and update patient demographic and insurance billing details into the pharmacy software. Assist in counting, pouring, measuring, packaging, and labeling medications under pharmacist supervision. Contact physician offices to request or clarify prescription refill authorizations according to state law. Help organize and manage workflows for custom compound or specialty medication orders. Customer Service & Point of Sale Greet patients warmly at the counter and handle phone inquiries with a professional, helpful attitude. Operate the point-of-sale system, process patient co-pays, and handle cash or card transactions accurately. Route all clinical, dosage, or medical questions immediately to the pharmacist on duty. Help patients locate over-the-counter health products or answer general non-medical front-store questions. Inventory & Administrative Support Check wholesale deliveries against invoices, unbox shipments, and stock pharmacy shelves. Monitor medication stock levels, identify low inventory, and track expiration dates to process returns. Keep the pharmacy counter, clean rooms, and drive-thru areas clean, organized, and properly sanitized. File paperwork and scan documents while strictly maintaining patient privacy under HIPAA guidelines. Required Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent education credential. Valid state pharmacy technician license or active registration in good standing. Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and medical offices. High attention to detail and accuracy during fast-paced data entry and prescription counting. Ability to stand and walk behind the pharmacy counter for the duration of a shift.
