This role provides critical support in pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, comprehensive pharmacy knowledge, and a commitment to patient service excellence. Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile IV admixture and compounding medications following aseptic techniques and sterile IV procedures. Maintain strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation guidelines, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards. Utilize pharmacy software for data entry, medication tracking, inventory management, and patient record updates. Perform pharmaceutical calculations with precision to ensure correct dosages and medication administration. Support hospital pharmacy operations by managing medication inventory, verifying prescriptions, and assisting with medication reconciliation. Execute IV infusion procedures with attention to pharmacological medical terminology and aseptic techniques. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times while handling sensitive health information. Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries related to medication therapy, drug interactions, and medication administration. Assist in training or mentoring new staff members on pharmacy protocols and software systems. Comply with all hospital policies regarding drug regulation, medical terminology usage, and healthcare regulations. Experience Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, or hospital settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation laws, and medical terminology. Experience with pharmacy software systems used in hospital or community pharmacies. Familiarity with sterile compounding techniques, including aseptic procedures for IV admixture. Proven ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail under pressure. Knowledge of state healthcare regulations and federal pharmacy laws governing medication dispensing. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication. Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred or required depending on the facility's policies. Previous hospital or acute care experience will be considered an asset for this role.
