Certified Pharmacy Technician Position Summary Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The inventory, distribution/inventory of medications may be required. Certified Pharmacy Technician Position Requirements TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Registered by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Maryland within 1 month from date of hire, transfer date if internal candidate, or upon certification through an accredited National Certification Board and must follow all regulations as per those regulations. High school diploma or equivalent required. TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and TidalHealth Nanticoke Certification through an accredited National Certification Board. Valid driver's license and verification of insurability under TidalHealth's automobile insurance plan. Certified Pharmacy Technician Work Schedule The pharmacy is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. May be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day and evening shifts, as staffing needs require. Works alternating weekends. Rotational coverage of holidays. Expected to work overtime and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies, and unexpected increases in workload.
