Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV infusion and aseptic technique procedures, ensuring sterile compounding standards are met. Perform accurate data entry into pharmacy software systems for prescriptions, medication orders, and inventory management. Support medication dispensing processes by verifying prescription details and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws. Prepare and compound medications following pharmaceutical regulations and hospital or community pharmacy protocols, including drug regulation compliance. Manage inventory levels by ordering supplies, checking expiration dates, and maintaining stock accuracy to ensure medication availability. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining medication instructions, and supporting medication administration efforts. Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, medical terminology standards, and pharmaceutical calculations for safe medication handling. Qualifications Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; current registration or licensure as required by state law. Demonstrated experience in LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy, critical care, or hospital pharmacy environments preferred. Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation policies, and healthcare safety standards. Experience with pharmacy software systems and data entry processes essential for efficient workflow management. Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and aseptic techniques necessary for sterile IV admixture procedures.
