M-F 9-6 : Sat-9-1 About the Position Thompson Pharmacy & Medical is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacists and serve our patients. You will help process prescriptions, submit insurance claims, maintain inventory, assist customers, and keep daily pharmacy operations running smoothly. This is a full-time, in-person position in a fast-paced community pharmacy and medical environment. Candidates with pharmacy, healthcare, retail, data-entry, or customer-service experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing prescriptions Enter patient and prescription information accurately into the pharmacy system Process third-party insurance claims and help resolve claim rejections Assist with refill requests, prior authorizations, and pharmacy paperwork Provide friendly, professional customer service in person and by phone Operate the cash register and process point-of-sale transactions Receive, organize, rotate, and restock medications and pharmacy supplies Monitor inventory and help identify items that need to be reordered Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and company procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to provide timely patient care Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Clear verbal and written communication skills Basic computer and data-entry skills Ability to provide patient-focused customer service Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to meet applicable state registration, licensing, or certification requirements for pharmacy technicians Preferred Qualifications Previous pharmacy technician or retail pharmacy experience Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or other recognized certification Experience processing prescription insurance claims Experience with pharmacy software, prior authorizations, inventory, or point-of-sale systems Previous healthcare, retail, cash-handling, or customer-service experience Relevant experience is preferred but not required. Training may be provided to the right candidate who meets applicable state requirements.
