Sterling Pharmacy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated Pharmacy Data Technician to join our team. This position will primarily focus on pharmacy data entry in Long-Term Care and Hospice while also providing the opportunity to gain experience and become cross-trained in other areas of the LTC pharmacy as well as our Retail Pharmacy operations . The ideal candidate is highly organized, computer-savvy, accurate, dependable, and eager to learn. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well with others, and is willing to learn different areas of the pharmacy when needed. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter and maintain patient, prescriptions, orders, medication, insurance, and facility information in pharmacy systems. Process new prescriptions, refill requests, medication changes, and other pharmacy orders according to established procedures. Review data entry for accuracy and identify discrepancies, missing information, or potential issues. Collaborate closely with pharmacists and pharmacy staff to resolve data-entry questions and prescription issues. Enter and maintain medication orders, facility information, and required documentation. Assist with insurance, billing, prior authorizations, and payer-related information as needed. Maintain accurate patient profiles and update information appropriately. Complete scanning, filing, documentation, and other administrative functions. Utilize pharmacy software and computer systems efficiently and accurately. Communicate professionally with pharmacy staff, facilities, nurses, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain confidentiality and follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Assist with workflow and other pharmacy functions as needed. Participate in cross-training throughout the pharmacy, including Long-Term Care, Hospice, and Retail Pharmacy. Be willing to learn additional pharmacy technician responsibilities and provide coverage in other departments when needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of Sterling Pharmacy. Qualifications & Skills Pharmacy technician experience preferred; Board of Pharmacy License; pharmacy technician certification is a plus. Strong computer, keyboarding, and data-entry skills. Exceptional attention-to-detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a demanding environment. Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong critical thinking skills. Comfortable learning new technology, pharmacy systems, and processes. Willingness to learn, grow, and be cross trained in multiple areas of the pharmacy. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist where needed.
