Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing customized medications through compounding processes, ensuring precision, safety, and compliance with all regulatory standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering personalized patient care, especially in specialized settings such as LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, and hospital environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your pharmacy skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting where accuracy and compassion are paramount. Duties Prepare compounded medications accurately following sterile and non-sterile compounding procedures, including IV infusion and sterile IV admixture techniques Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, data entry, and maintaining precise medication records using pharmacy software systems Ensure all compounding activities adhere to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, state and federal pharmacy laws, and drug regulation standards Perform pharmaceutical calculations for medication dosages, dilutions, and admixtures with attention to detail Maintain patient confidentiality while managing sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions and addressing basic patient inquiries under supervision Follow aseptic techniques and sterile procedures during IV compounding to ensure safety and sterility in all preparations Skills Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or clinical pharmacy settings with a focus on compounding medications Strong understanding of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and drug regulation standards Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management Knowledge of state healthcare regulations, pharmacy laws, and drug regulation policies governing pharmacy practice Skilled in sterile IV admixture procedures, aseptic technique, and maintaining sterile environments for compounded medications Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication within healthcare teams Ability to perform accurately under pressure while managing multiple tasks such as intake processing and medication preparation Join our team to make a meaningful difference by delivering safe, personalized medications in a collaborative environment.
