What We're Looking For:

Education :

High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.

Experience :

One year relevant experience, preferred. If Associate's Degree in Pharm Tech, experience is included in schooling.

Licensure/Certification:

Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required. PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire or FPGEE/FPGEC, required. Additional Skills (required): State Registration and/or evidence of renewal is required for Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration and Technicians are required to be either certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or be active in Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) or Foreign Pharmacy Equivalency Certification (FPGEC). Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic technology skills. Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team. Additional Skills (preferred): Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration, and adverse effects; the ability to demonstrate patient interview skills and strong written and communication skills with other healthcare professionals.

What You'll Do:

Key Responsibilities:

Support pharmacists by profiling medications and products. Prepare and deliver medications and products as required. Maintain adequate inventory of stock and supplies in accordance with regulations. Proficiently access and utilize pharmacy electronic information and automated systems. Rotate and work in all areas of the pharmacy as directed, maintaining competency across job functions. Demonstrate proficiency in various skill sets, including: Triage/IV premix Automated dispensing cabinets/pre-packagers Sterile and non-sterile compounding (including IV/total parenteral nutrition preparation) Hazardous medication preparation Assist in training and mentoring new pharmacists, technicians, residents, and students. Provide feedback on the performance of trainees during their training sessions.

Requirements:

Flexibility to work primarily day shifts, with occasional evening or weekend hours depending on the position. Willingness to maintain and expand skill set across all areas of the pharmacy.
