Duties Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates; accurately document findings using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medical procedures by preparing patients and equipment for treatments such as catheter care, phlebotomy, or medication administration. Maintain a safe environment by using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and ensuring proper infection control practices with aseptic techniques. Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff promptly; work with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia to ensure their safety and well-being. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, especially those in memory care or hospice settings, fostering trust and comfort. Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient privacy while managing medical documentation and records accurately. Qualifications Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; current state licensure required. Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home health environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation purposes. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is essential. Experience with specialized care areas including Alzheimer's/dementia care, behavioral health, pediatric or geriatrics populations preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with patient transfers safely.
