Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Contract Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team for a long term overnight hospital assignment at a hospital in Queens. In this vital role, you will provide expert pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting, ensuring safe medication management, patient safety, and optimal therapeutic outcomes while supporting multidisciplinary teams across various departments. Duties Review and interpret medication orders with precision, ensuring accuracy in complex clinical scenarios such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and trauma centers. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized medication plans that optimize patient outcomes. Dispense medications accurately using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and other sterile preparations, adhering to strict safety protocols. Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as needed based on physiology knowledge and patient assessment findings. Manage acute pain and emergency medication needs within high-acuity settings. Provide expert guidance on pharmacology related to hospital medicine, critical care, pediatrics, and post-residency specialties. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, medical terminology standards, and pharmacy regulations while maintaining meticulous documentation of all pharmacy activities. Participate in quality assurance initiatives focused on patient service excellence and medication safety improvements.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of recent hospital pharmacy experience required Active NY Pharmacist license Strong clinical and communication skills Ability to work overnight shifts and rotating weekends
