Pharmacy technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist in preparing medications to dispense to patients. To do this, pharmacy technicians need to demonstrate proper pharmaceutical techniques and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients as well as the pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians need to learn medication names, actions, uses, and doses. They need to have a working knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, data entry and recordkeeping, and pharmacy law and ethics.

• This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this role will be required to work every 4th weekend. In addition, a caregiver in this role may have the opportunity to pick up shifts throughout the week.
• A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems. + Fill medication carts daily. + Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy. + Repackage bulk medications. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma or GED.
• Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:
• + Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA) +
• AND•it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.

If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.

• Minimum hourly: $23.
