Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician - IV Certified Job Type Contract An established healthcare facility is seeking two experienced IV Certified Pharmacy Technicians for a contract position in Broken Arrow, OK. This role requires expertise in home infusion pharmacy services, compounding infused drugs, and patient care management in a home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Compound sterile medications and prepare infused drug solutions following proper procedures. Accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring legal compliance and accuracy. Monitor patient medication regimens, evaluating therapy effectiveness and adherence. Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and device handling (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters). Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with meticulous accuracy. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related problems. Provide additional health services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
Desired Qualifications:
Current OK pharmacy technician license with IV certification. Proven experience in compounding and evaluating drug therapies for home infusion patients. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Participation in professional pharmacy organizations is advantageous. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Contract length:
Approximately 4 months, starting ASAP through December 31. This opportunity is ideal for candidates ready to step into a pivotal role supporting patients in a home infusion setting.
