Duties Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile IV infusion compounding and aseptic technique procedures to ensure safe medication delivery. Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient information. Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with state and federal pharmacy laws, ensuring pharmaceutical regulatory compliance at all times. Support patient care by providing medication information, answering questions about drug interactions, and ensuring proper medication intake instructions are communicated clearly. Conduct pharmaceutical calculations accurately for dosage determination, drug compounding, and administration needs across various care settings such as hospital or LTC (long-term care) pharmacy. Maintain strict adherence to medical terminology standards and pharmacological protocols during all pharmacy operations. Uphold patient confidentiality while managing sensitive health information and complying with healthcare regulations. Qualifications Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong background in hospital or community pharmacy settings. Prior LTC pharmacy experience or critical care experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, sterile IV admixture procedures, and aseptic technique is essential. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred; must meet state healthcare regulation requirements for pharmacy technicians. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, drug regulation policies, and medical terminology is required. Demonstrated ability to perform pharmaceutical compounding accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality assurance.
