Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST This schedule is designed to provide structure, consistency, and balance while supporting patient care and pharmacy operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide prompt, professional service to patients. Accurately process prescription information and refill authorizations (as permitted by state law). Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards. Enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy system. Support prescription filling by completing all related workflow steps. Address patient concerns, including insurance coverage questions. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment. Troubleshoot and resolve third-party claim issues by understanding rejections and plan parameters. Manage inbound and outbound calls regarding insurance, prescription intake, and refill requests. Document and report adverse events or product complaints per pharmaceutical manufacturer guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned by Pharmacists.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High School Diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency with pharmacy systems and general computer use. Must be eligible to participate in federal and state healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid). Must have a Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license. Role-Specific Skills Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills. Proficiency in data entry and general word processing. Effective oral communication with patients, prescribers, and staff. Analytical skills to interpret information and propose solutions. Keen attention to detail and accuracy. Thorough understanding of third-party pharmacy benefit plans. Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment. Physical ability to perform repetitive standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and reaching tasks.
