Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and hospital environments, and will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and care. This role requires proficiency in medication administration, aseptic technique, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. Duties Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. Provide patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications. Maintain accurate records of medication intake and administration for patients. Utilize critical care experience to support the pharmacy team in high-pressure situations. Prepare IV infusions while adhering to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes in acute care settings. Manage inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring availability for patient needs. Stay updated on medical terminology and pharmacy best practices to enhance service delivery. Requirements Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required; LTC pharmacy or hospital experience is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Familiarity with IV infusion processes and aseptic techniques is highly desirable. Strong patient service skills with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with medication administration in acute care settings is an asset.
