Houston Methodist is seeking a Pharmacy Technician IV Cert to support safe, accurate medication delivery in our hospital pharmacy. This role prepares and compounds sterile IV medications, follows USP / standards, manages inventory, and assists pharmacists with medication distribution and automated dispensing systems. The technician collaborates with nurses and pharmacists to ensure timely patient care, documents quality and safety checks, and supports a culture of integrity, innovation, and continuous learning within our mission-driven health system. Responsibilities Prepare and compound sterile IV medications using proper aseptic technique Follow USP / standards and Houston Methodist safety policies Label, package, and deliver medications accurately and on time Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy automation and dispensing cabinets Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking expirations Assist pharmacists with medication distribution and verification workflows Document quality checks, waste, and interventions in pharmacy systems Collaborate with nurses and pharmacists to support patient care needs Maintain a clean, organized sterile compounding and work area Participate in ongoing training and process improvement initiatives Required Skills Sterile IV compounding USP / compliance Aseptic technique Medication preparation and labeling Pharmacy automation systems Inventory and supply management Order entry and verification support Pyxis/Omnicell or similar systems Quality and safety documentation Basic pharmaceutical calculations
