Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The Pharmacy Tech II assists in preparing, packaging, delivering and charging of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities General Functions:
Accurately fills medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner. Assures all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing. Responds appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests and ADC stock out bulletins. Accurately stock ADCs in a timely manner. Prepackages and labels oral medications and extemporaneous preparations. Prepares IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products accurately consistent with IV policies and procedures. Restocks medications in IV room and conforms to IV cleaning schedule Interprets medication labels to compounds, prepares and maintains records of transactions. Prepares outpatient prescriptions for review by pharmacist Prepares unit dose tablets capsules and liquids, and surgical drugs and other specialty drug trays Assists the pharmacist with the dispensing of controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High School Graduate or equivalent; accredited training in sterile products preparation.

Two years hospital experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE
Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License ; Pharmacy Technician Certification (depending on state regulations) required.
