Full Job Description Job Title:
Pharmacy Data Entry Technician (Long-Term Care).
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and articulate Pharmacy Data Entry Technician to join our long-term care pharmacy team. This role is responsible for accurately processing high-volume prescription orders, clarifying medication details with facility personnel, and maintaining meticulous clinical documentation using RedSail Technologies software suites (PrimeCare/QS/1, DocuTrack, DeliveryTrack, and PioneerRx).
Key Responsibilities:
Prescription Data Entry & Processing:
Accurately input new prescriptions, refills, and physician orders into PrimeCare/QS/1, verifying exact dosage forms, SIGs, directions, and facility-specific patient profiles.
Document & Logistics Workflow Management:
Utilize DocuTrack to queue, triage, and route digital prescription documents and clinical communications, while interfacing with DeliveryTrack to track order dispatch, staging, and facility delivery schedules.
Clear Professional Communication:
Serve as a primary point of contact for nursing facility staff, prescribers, and internal dispensing teams to resolve order discrepancies, request prescription renewals, and communicate real-time fulfillment statuses.
Meticulous Documentation:
Maintain clear, audit-ready records of all prescriber communications, prior authorization updates, chart edits, and third-party insurance billing overrides.
Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain full compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations, HIPAA standards, and pharmacy quality assurance protocols across all patient records and electronic orders.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Licensing:
Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration; CPhT certification required.
Software Experience:
Direct experience using RedSail Technologies platforms ( PrimeCare/QS/1 , DocuTrack , and DeliveryTrack ) is strongly preferred.
Communication Excellence:
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with professional phone etiquette tailored for nursing homes and assisted living personnel.
Documentation Precision:
High typing accuracy and speed (50+ WPM) with rigorous attention to detail and zero tolerance for transcription errors.
Setting Experience:
1+ years of experience in a closed-door, institutional, or long-term care pharmacy environment preferred.
Working Environment:
This position operates within a non-retail, closed-door long-term care pharmacy focused on delivering accurate medication management and dedicated logistics support to healthcare facilities.
