Internally, this position is our Batch Master Apprentice - Blending. Liquid Health Sciences, Inc. | Dallas-Fort Worth, TX | Full-Time, Hourly, On-Site $20.00-$24.00 per hour + overtime, retirement plan, paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick leave Monday-Friday, 8- to 10-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during training. Overtime is paid for hours over 40 in a week. We make our products in a cGMP dietary-supplement facility, and every batch has to come out exactly like the last one. That's where you come in. Are you a science grad who would rather make the product than just test it? This is an apprenticeship, not a job for a year. You'll learn to take our formula and Master Manufacturing Record and produce the batch the same way, every single time: set up and run the blending equipment, verify and weigh every ingredient, charge and mix in exact order, document each step as it happens, and clean and reassemble everything you used. Most of your day is in the weigh and mix rooms, on your feet, in gowning. Your degree is what lets you also work in our lab—running the tests on what you made (pH, Brix, viscosity, HPLC) and executing R D prototype batches with our formulators. Think of it the way the brewing industry does: a Batch Master is a craft position that takes many years to earn, and it starts here. If you want to learn a trade with real science in it, and you find satisfaction in doing the same thing perfectly rather than doing something new every day, this is built for you. What you'll do Blending (most of your time). Follow the formula and MMR exactly. Set up the weigh and mix rooms, verify line clearance, verify each material's identity, lot, quantity and release status, weigh to tolerance with two-person verification, charge in order, mix to time, speed and temperature, pull in-process samples, complete the batch record as you go, reconcile yield, and clean, sanitize and release the room and equipment after every batch. Laboratory. Run the lab tests on raw materials, in-process and finished product—pH, specific gravity, Brix, viscosity, color, appearance, HPLC assays, micro and allergen swabs. Prepare standards and reagents, calibrate instruments, and participate in R D by executing prototype and pilot-scale trials and recording the results. Cross-training. Learn and stay qualified in warehousing (receiving, picking and staging materials, inventory cycle counts), packaging (setups, fill weights, torque, seals, label verification) and facilities and maintenance (scheduled PM, minor repairs). You'll work in those areas when production needs you there. Every role. Operate, assemble, disassemble, clean and perform minor maintenance on the equipment you use. Follow GMP, gowning, PPE, LOTO and hazard-communication rules. Report deviations, out-of-spec results and spills immediately. Sanitation is part of every role, not someone else's job. What we're looking for Associate's or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, food science or a related science (required; bachelor's preferred). Recent graduates welcome—no manufacturing experience needed. Real bench time in school or an internship: wet chemistry, analytical instruments, following a written method and getting a reproducible result. You read the whole procedure before you start, check a weight twice without being told, and write things down as they happen. An unlabeled beaker bothers you.
Comfortable with physical work:
on your feet for an 8-10 hour shift, lifting 50 lbs, working in warm rooms in gowning, taking a pump apart and putting it back together. Hands-on experience—kitchen, brewery, warehouse, farm, military—is a plus.
Math for formulation:
weights, unit conversions, percentages, ppm and dilutions. Legible handwriting. Basic Microsoft Office. Willing to rotate across every role and be trained in all of them. Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required. You ask when you're unsure and say so when you made a mistake. In a GMP plant that honesty is worth more than raw talent. The apprenticeship path Structured, hour-tracked training. Advancement to Batch Master Technician (Level 2) requires 6,240 documented on-the-job hours—about three years full-time—plus 20 hours of continuing education a year and passing practical assessments in every role. A real ladder. Technician, Batch Master Lead, Assistant Supervisor, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Manager. At roughly three years a step, an apprentice who starts today could be running production in under twenty years—the same progression a brewmaster follows. Paid certifications and training in your first 90-180 days: cGMP, forklift, chemical hygiene and lab safety, confined-space entry, and Lockout/Tagout. Compensation, schedule & benefits $20.00-$24.00 per hour, based on degree and laboratory experience. Non-exempt; overtime paid over 40 hours. Monday-Friday. 8- to 10-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during training; not every day is ten hours, but some will be.
