Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician Job Type Contract A Certified Pharmacy Technician role is available in an office-based pharmacy setting located in Roanoke, VA. This contract opportunity lasts for 13 weeks with potential for extension or possible temp-to-hire. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a consistent weekday routine. The anticipated start date is approximately two weeks after the job offer.

Key Responsibilities:

Process prescriptions efficiently, including insurance adjudications and resolving rejections. Prepare, package, and accurately label medications for pharmacist verification. Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and maintain communication with patients and prescribers. Maintain precise inventory counts through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration reviews. Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction protocols. Cross-train in various pharmacy functions and support overall department operations as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

Must hold a current registration as a pharmacy technician in the State of Virginia. National certification required from PTCB, NHA, or Excpt. Minimum of 2+ years recent pharmacy technician experience in retail, closed-door, mail order, or long-term care settings (hospital background not accepted).
