In this energetic position, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimens accurately and efficiently, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient comfort. Your expertise will support diagnostic testing, medical research, and treatment plans, making a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and care in geriatrics Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, handling, and processing according to laboratory protocols to maintain sample integrity. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for accurate data entry and documentation of all procedures performed. Monitor vital signs when necessary and provide basic patient care to ensure comfort during specimen collection. Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination or infection during blood sampling and specimen handling. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and provide compassionate service while demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Qualifications Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or medical laboratory work with a focus on phlebotomy or specimen collection. Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to blood sampling and patient care. Certification in Phlebotomy or related field required Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture using aseptic technique with minimal discomfort to patients.. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data entry and record keeping. Ability to lift heavy objects safely when handling supplies or specimens; physical stamina required for standing and walking during shifts. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols including infection control practices and specimen handling procedures.
