Job Description At the Center for New Medicine and Cancer Center for Healing, we are pioneers in integrative and functional medicine, offering advanced, personalized care to patients — from those with minor health concerns to those facing complex conditions such as cancer. Located in the heart of Orange County, our world-renowned clinic blends conventional medicine with cutting-edge alternative therapies, creating a healing environment rooted in compassion, innovation, and whole-person care. We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomy Float to join our dynamic team. This float role requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to support various departments across the clinic. Key Responsibilities Float between departments as needed to provide medical assistant and phlebotomy support. Review patient charts prior to appointments; verify demographics, review labs and diagnostics, and flag pending items. Greet patients warmly, record vitals, escort them to exam rooms, and prepare them for their visit. Assist providers during exams and treatment procedures. Draw blood and handle specimens in accordance with best practices and safety protocols. Track and support each patient's treatment plan, ensuring timely labs, follow-ups, and therapy adherence. Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate external services such as labs, imaging, and specialty referrals. Educate patients and families on home care protocols; provide instruction sheets and answer basic care questions. Respond to patient phone calls, emails, and portal messages with professionalism and empathy. Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR). Assist with emergencies and maintain a calm, supportive presence. Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms; sterilize instruments and manage clinical supply inventory. Uphold all clinic protocols, legal requirements, and health regulations for patient safety and compliance. What You'll Bring Certified Medical Assistant (Required) Phlebotomy Certification or documented experience in blood draws (Required) 2-3 years of hands-on clinical experience, including both back-office and administrative duties Strong interest in integrative and holistic medicine. Proficient in EMR/EHR systems and clinical documentation Solid understanding of HIPAA and clinical protocols Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Patient-first attitude and a calm, compassionate demeanor Must currently reside in Orange County, CA and be available for immediate start
