Job Description
Job Title:
PhlebotomistJob Description As a phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients through a variety of procedures. You will also package these specimens and samples for laboratory testing and assist with other lab procedures as needed. This role requires proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and difficult draws. A comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, along with the ability to communicate its importance to others, is essential. Additionally, you will provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. Responsibilities + Reviewing test orders + Drawing samples + Processing specimens Essential Skills + Proficiency in blood draw techniques + Acute care experience + CPT 1 License + Phlebotomy and venipuncture skills + Experience with a lab system, such as Cerner + Customer service skills + At least six months of experience in an acute or sub-acute setting + Infant draw and neonatal experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma + Experience in hospital and outpatient settings + Ability to draw 45-55 patients within an 8-hour shift in outpatient settings + Ability to draw 20-30 patients within an 8-hour shift in inpatient settings + Excellent attendance and behavior record + Hospital experience is a plus Work Environment The work environment includes an AM shift from 4:00am-12:30pm with a need for on-call basis, subject to change. You will be provided full-time hours for training to acclimate to the facility and may assist with processing. Schedules are provided two weeks in advance. The dress code requires wearing red scrubs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Bernardino, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
